AliasMintPrivacy Policy
Your aliases are generated in your browser.AliasMint does not send your settings, generated addresses, or browsing information to Cherrygrape or to external servers. No account or API key is required.
This policy covers the AliasMint Chrome extension, previously named Email Button. AliasMint generates email aliases using domains you configure and inserts them into email fields. It works with your existing catch-all email or wildcard forwarding; it does not provide a mailbox or set up forwarding.
Information handled on your device
To provide its features, AliasMint handles the following information locally in your browser:
- Your settings: the email domains you add, which domains you enable for generation, your address-generation preferences, and your optional website-prefix preference. These settings are stored locally in your Chrome profile.
- Webpage elements: input fields and their labels or attributes, used to identify email fields and display the alias-generation button.
- The current website’s hostname: used to create the optional website prefix.
- Generated email addresses: created locally and inserted into the selected field when you use an address-generation action.
AliasMint does not maintain a history of generated addresses or a record of your browsing history.
Why the extension needs access
Access to supported webpages allows AliasMint to locate email fields and insert an address when you request it. Storage access allows it to remember your domains and preferences. Information accessed through these capabilities is used only for AliasMint’s email-address generation and filling features.
Data sharing and tracking
Cherrygrape does not receive the information AliasMint handles locally. The extension does not sell user data or use analytics, advertising, or tracking. It does not connect to an email provider or access your mailbox.
Once an alias is inserted into a webpage, that website can read it. The website may process the address under its own privacy policy, including before you submit the form. AliasMint does not submit forms automatically.
Your choices and data retention
You can add, change, disable, or remove domains and change your generation preferences in the extension’s settings. Saved settings remain in your Chrome profile until changed or removed. Disabling a domain keeps it in your settings but excludes it from generation.
You can manage the extension’s site access, disable it, or uninstall it through Chrome’s extension controls. Uninstalling AliasMint removes its local extension settings. Removing settings or uninstalling the extension does not delete information a website has already received or change your email provider’s forwarding configuration.
Limited Use
AliasMint uses information it accesses only to provide the user-facing features described in this policy. AliasMint’s use of user data complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
This policy page
This page contains no analytics scripts, advertising, tracking pixels, or third-party fonts, and does not set cookies itself. It is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Visiting it involves sending ordinary connection information, such as your IP address, to the hosting provider so the page can be delivered. Hosting-related processing is separate from the extension’s local operation and is described in Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
Changes and contact
If AliasMint’s privacy practices change, this policy will be updated and the date above will be revised.
